Skill Level: Beginner
Evolve Your Breath. Master your Mind. Fall into Flow.
After many years of practicing and teaching a combination of yoga, meditation and free diving, Jonny is learning that these practices are like cross training for the mind. Just as we aim to build stamina / strength / flexibility for our physical bodies we also need to TRAIN to build self-awareness, focus, concentration, empathy, gratitude… they are all muscles and it takes conscious effort to design a practice that is right for us.
We also tend to underestimate the power of our breath is because it’s free and it’s more socially acceptable to buy another double espresso shot than it is to spend 2 minutes doing breath work exercises by the Dojo pool…
What People Will Learn
As well as covering some of the latest scientific findings (who doesn’t love a good study), he’ll guide you through three simple two-minute breathing techniques to breath yourself into a better day.
1. Morning Wake Up: Clearing out the morning cobwebs to get inspired for the day or prepare your mind for a deeper meditation.
2. Espresso Shot Breath: activate your nervous system to combat the post-lunch slump, allowing you to tap back into a productive flow state (wthout the jittery side effects of caffeine!)
3. Cultivate Calm: unwind at the end of the day to tame the monkey mind and fall asleep faster and an intro to the ancient practice of ‘Nidra’ power naps.
There will also be time for an extended Q&A at the end to tackle curiosities and any blockers when it comes to your meditation and/or breathing routines.
