Short Description*: Understanding web development is one of the most important skills for any digital nomad. Learn basic web development and build a simple business card landing page for you to use!
The Institute of Code run immersive coding retreats in Bali, teaching people basic web development. We teach people with no experience HTML/CSS, Javascript and jQuery, with the aim of having at least 1 to 2 portfolio ready websites by the end. Our aim is to create the best environment possible for accelerated learning. See an example site one of our students built: http://learn.instituteofcode.com/
What People Will Learn*:
-Learn fundamental HTML/CSS
– Build a simple business card style splash/landing page
– Become familiarised with web development jargon, so they’re able to communicate with developers/programmers better
– Learn how to use tools such as Codepen and Github to experiment and troubleshoot problems
– Get access to our Gitbook for more resources, cheatsheets and challenges
About the speaker*:
Tina May is a serial entrepreneur and front-end web developer – she launched her first creative agency at 20, bartered her way around the world building websites for boutique hotels and is now the Co-Founder of an immersive coding bootcamp, Institute of Code. She’s travelled to over 20 countries and taught over 100 students how to build responsive websites from scratch
